The Team
Service BC is hiring Registries Services Clerks to support the Vital Statistics Agency and the BC Registries branch. As a trusted public service provider, Service BC delivers essential programs and services to people, businesses and communities across British Columbia, including business registrations, driver licensing, health card services, tenancy supports and more.
The Role

As a Registries Services Clerk, you will gain practical experience in customer service, administrative processes, financial transactions, policy and legislation, while helping deliver services that matter to people in British Columbia every day.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 graduation or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum 1 year of recent office experience in a high volume, fast paced customer service environment providing information and services to the public.
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience operating MS Office applications such as Excel. Word, and Outlook.
- Minimum 6 months of recent experience and/or training handling financial transactions.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- More years of experience in any of the above requirements.
- Experience applying policy and/or legislation.
- Clerical and administrative office experience in public service sector environments (e.g. Municipal, Provincial, Federal).
Proviso/Willingness Statement:
- Able to carry and move objects (e.g. file boxes) of up to 35lbs.

About this Position:
There are eight (8) positions available:
There are three (3) permanent opportunities: two (2) in Victoria (on-site) and one (1) in Kelowna;
There are five (5) temporary opportunities: three (3) in Victoria and two (2) in Burnaby. These positions are all 12-month temporary opportunities. These positions may be extended or become permanent.
BC Registries positions have full time on-site requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies for Vital Statistics Agency and BC Registries.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
