Job Overview
This position is responsible for researching ministry programs, policy, reviewing background materials, consulting ministry briefing notes and obtaining content from ministry subject matter experts to develop written responses to ministerial correspondence for the signature of the Minister, Deputy Minister, and Assistant Deputy Ministers.
There is a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment often dealing with technical terminology, including writing, reviewing, and assigning incoming correspondence. Additionally, this position is responsible for tracking and analyzing correspondence data and creating statistical reports. This position provides writing services to facilitate the accurate and timely communication of Ministry information to internal and external audiences through a wide variety of media.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- A Degree or Diploma in a social/community services or humanities field plus a minimum of 1 year of related experience; OR
- Grade 12 plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and/or training and experience.
Related experience must include the following:
- Experience with preparing, proofreading, and/or copy-editing correspondence.
- Experience with managing information regarding confidential and/or sensitive content.
- Experience providing administrative support services to a diverse range of individuals, executives and organizations.
- Experience identifying issues, conducting analysis, and recommending appropriate solutions or courses of action.
Preference may be given to applicants who have one or more of the following:
- Experience drafting Minister, Deputy Minister or ADM written correspondence and documentation.
- Experience using eApproval, CLIFF, and MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and/or PowerPoint.

About this Position:
