Job Overview

Reporting to the Director, the Senior Policy Analyst will lead the research, analysis, development, and implementation of strategic policies and/or initiatives, governance frameworks for the Indigenous Policy and Engagement Branch. The Senior Policy Analyst will lead broad research agenda and various engagements to support Indigenous relations and partnerships on labour market development, skills training and post-secondary education. The Senior Policy Analyst is expected to proactively lead internal and external engagement processes, build and maintain relationships with Indigenous People and partners, and develop strategies to support and advance the labour market priorities of Indigenous Peoples. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Graduate’s degree in Indigenous studies, public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences or a related field of study and three (3) or more years of combined relevant experience; OR 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous studies, public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, or a related field of study and four (4) or more years combined relevant experience. OR
  • Diploma in Indigenous studies, public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, or a related field of study and six (6) or more years combined relevant experience. 

Relevant work experience must include all of the following:

  • Experience in the development of legislation, regulation and/or policy.
  • Experience managing internal and external relationships with diverse partners and coordinating engagement sessions.
  • Experience in leading, planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Individuals who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience working with Indigenous organizations and communities. 
  • Experience working with the post-secondary education, skills training and/ or labour market development systems.

About this Position:
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved Telework Agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
