Job Overview
Provides specialized expertise in managing trade verification processes, review and authorization for all settlement and maturity payments for Provinces’ commercial paper, promissory note, and foreign exchange trades. Manages and authorizes all incoming and outgoing settlement, interest and maturity payments related to various domestic and foreign debt issuance programs as well as all payments related to the derivatives portfolio of the Province. The Senior Debt Payments Manager is accountable for all domestic and global payments under these programs throughout the review, verification, processing, and reconciliation stages and will supervise and have strategic oversight of up to two Debt Payment Manager positions.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a financial management field, or a financial management diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Treasury or brokerage environment; OR
- 5 years of equivalent work experience may be considered.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience or leading a small team.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Leadership experience.
- Experience with money market/bond/derivative settlements, interest and maturity payments and use of various bank platforms to facilitate payments.
- Experience working efficiently and effectively in a small team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with fixed/floating bonds and various derivative types (e.g., cross-currency swaps, interest rate swaps, rate locks), specifically the logistics around settlement, interest, and maturity payments.
- Experience interpreting general terms and conditions of bond and/or derivative agreements/contracts/term sheets.

This is a temporary opportunity until April 30, 2028. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
