The Team
Named one of the Top 10 Best Places to work in 2018 and Top Work Unit award recipient in 2020, 2022 and 2024 for the BC Public Service, the Receivables Management Office (RMO), of the Ministry of Finance, develops and manages business procedures and overall strategies for the collection of tax debts, non-tax debts, and other obligations owed to the Province of British Columbia. In addition, it oversees all aspects of student loan administration and repayment. The RMO collects overdue debts administered by the Ministry of Finance, as well as programs administered by client ministries and agencies. The RMO’s success in collecting outstanding debt provides key funding for the services and supports provided by the Province. On average, the RMO collects over $1 billion annually.
The Role
This position is responsible for analyzing and collecting delinquent tax accounts, carrying out investigations of tax debtors and their assets to maximize the collection of overdue taxes, approving payment proposals and advancing provincial priorities as outlined in various tax acts as well as related federal and provincial legislation.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Certificate or diploma in a related field such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance or other similar program plus *related work experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
*Related work experience must include:
- 5 years’ experience in a public-facing role
- 2 years’ experience collecting overdue debts in a multi-portfolio environment.
- Experience working with relevant provincial/federal statutes, legislation, regulations and/or policies.

There are four (4) positions available.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
