Job Overview
The Team Lead, Budget and Accounting provides senior budget and accounting services for a ministry, including expert advisory services and policy and procedures development.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree and 1 year of related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related experience; OR
- Diploma and 3 years related experience; OR
- Certificate or coursework and 4 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience should include
- Experience in budget development and estimates preparation, financial planning and analysis, budget monitoring, and preparation of reports for executive staff.
- Experience interpreting legislation and conducting analytical research to support budget development and evaluation.
- Experience analyzing financial data for variances and trends and recommending remedial action.
Preference may be given to candidates:
- Who hold a professional accounting designation and are members of the Chartered Professional Accountants BC (CPABC).
- With experience working in a corporate services environment, including hands-on responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
- With experience working with Oracle Analytics, Corporate Financial System, and Excel.
- With experience supervising staff.
