The Team
The Duncan Court Registry is a team of eight professionals providing essential registry and in-court services to support the justice system. Our work supports the effective administration of court proceedings and requires accuracy, organization, sound judgment, and a commitment to professional service. We value collaboration, communication, and supporting one another, while recognizing our important role in promoting access to justice and providing service excellence.
The Role
A Deputy District Registrar or Registrar provides front-counter services and performs important quasi-judicial duties that help the court operate effectively. You will support clients by endorsing legal documents, explaining court processes in plain language, managing court records, and ensuring registry files and court funds are handled accurately and securely. In this role, you will provide respectful, fair, and accessible service to people from a wide range of backgrounds, helping ensure everyone can confidently navigate the court system.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Certificate or coursework in a related field and 1 year of *related experience; OR
- Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 2 years of *related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
*Related Experience includes:
- Experience working with Court Registry related documentation and processes.
Professional Registration and Certification Requirements
- Must be able to qualify for signing authority as a Deputy District Registrar or Registrar.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience using CEIS and/or JUSTIN.
- Deputy District Registrar certification.
