Job Overview
The Regional Manager provides service and support to local governments, Indigenous nations, and economic development organizations to advance regional economic development initiatives. The role builds partnerships across the public and private sectors, supports community economic projects, and provides advice on funding opportunities and programs that help strengthen and diversify regional economies.
As the ministry's senior regional economic development representative, the Regional Manager works with investors, businesses, local governments, First Nations, and elected officials to advance a broad range of economic initiatives across key sectors. The position identifies emerging economic issues, analyzes regional market trends, provides strategic advice on policy and program development, and supports government priorities including economic growth, Indigenous reconciliation, and implementation of the Look West strategy.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, public administration, or a related field and three (3) years related experience.

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Three (3) years related experience must include each of the following:
-
Experience in leading/conducting sector and stakeholder consultation and leading multi-party discussions to resolve issues.

Experience building strategic partnerships and facilitating the development of collaborative relationships.

Experience managing complex projects.

Valid Class 5 (minimum) B.C Driver's License.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in a local or regional economic/community development setting.

About this Position:
The branch is hiring two permanent full-time positions, both located in the Thompson-Okanagan economic region, with flexibility regarding the specific work location within the region. For specific information about location, applicants should contact the hiring manager.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to five (5) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity.
