Description

The Team
The Early Childhood Educator Registry's Post Secondary Programs (PSP) team is a collaborative and experienced group of professionals dedicated to supporting quality and consistency in early childhood education across British Columbia. The team works closely with post-secondary institutions, ministry partners, and strategic policy. The team is responsible for assessing and analyzing educational programs and applicant qualifications, including international curriculum, to determine if it is equivalent to provincial certification standards. The team is also responsible for reviewing and analyzing ECE program proposals from educational institutions delivering recognized ECE programs. The team maintains relationships with these educational institutions – including conducting regular curriculum reviews to ensure they continue to meet provincial requirements. The team plays a key role in maintaining ECE program standards, supporting certification processes, and fostering strong relationships with recognized educational institutions to help strengthen the early care and learning workforce.

The Role
The ECE Program Analyst reports to the ECE Program Coordinator and is responsible for the review and analysis of post-secondary early childhood education programs as well as the assessment of applications for certification received from applicants who completed their early childhood education program at an educational institution not recognized by the Registry (e.g. another province or territory within Canada or internationally). The position also entails supporting the development of operational policies, procedures and standards to support the assessment of equivalency applications and post-secondary educational reviews. This position entails direct interaction with applicants and various partners.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma or a Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care or a related field. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the field of early childhood education.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the assessment and comprehensive analysis of complex information or data, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience communicating with a variety of clients and broad range of sector partners.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the development, review, and implementation of competency-based curriculum.
  • Minimum 1 year experience interpreting and applying legislation and regulations.


Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience teaching at a post-secondary level.
  • Experience in the development, review, and implementation of competency-based curriculum in an adult education / post-secondary environment.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment. 
  • Experience as a decision maker.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child and Youth Care.
  • Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to five days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
