Description
The Team
The Virtual Services Branch delivers programs and operational services to clients across the province through a virtual service delivery model. Partnering with community agencies to collaboratively develop social services to meet the needs of the community (e.g., public health, schools, correctional facilities, and non-profit organizations). The Branch includes the Contact Centre, which operates five hubs across the province and supports a high volume of citizen interactions each day.
The Role
The Supervisor, Service Delivery provides leadership, coaching and direct/indirect supervision to a team of Employment and Assistance Workers, Adjudicators and/or Client Service Workers delivering employment, income assistance, and disability assistance supports to citizens throughout the province. The Supervisor ensures program targets are met, manages budget and staffing allocations, and handles escalations from people seeking our services. The Supervisor supports the Service Delivery Division’s Business Plan by implementing operational changes, monitoring program performance, and recommending improvements, and participating in the long-range planning of our service delivery.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Social Services, Business Administration, or Public Administration and one or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Related Experience must include all of the following:
- Leading staff in a high volume, fast paced, rapidly changing environment customer service environment.
- Leading staff through activities such as coaching, evaluating performance, providing direction to employees, orienting/training and scheduling.
- Experience using analytics to monitor performance.
- Providing services to citizens from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to, citizens with mental health issues and/or physical disabilities, citizens with substance use issues, and individuals who may be in crisis, displaying frustration, anger, or acting out in an abusive manner.
- Planning, directing, monitoring, organizing, assessing and/or controlling of the resources of an organization.
- Delivering programs and services requiring an assessment of eligibility and, applying rules, regulations and/or legislation.
- Working with various computer applications: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; specialized data bases, records-management, or case-management programs.
Preferences
- Five or more years of related experience.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with collaborators and community partners.
- Experience using the ICM (Integrated Case Management) System.
- Experience working in a Contact Centre environment.
- Experience working in a social service environment.
- Experience supervising staff belonging to a collective bargaining unit.

About this Position:
There is one temporary opportunity until March 31, 2027 in Chilliwack. This position may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in the following locations: Chilliwack, Kamloops, Prince George, Surrey, Victoria.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
The Contact Centre offers two shifts, an early shift 8:30am-4:30pm and a late shift 9:30am-5:30pm, new Supervisors in the Contact Centre working the early shift, will rotate on to the late shift approximately 6 weeks per year and as needed.
New hires can opt for the late shift as their regular shift.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
