The Team
The Operations team is an established, collaborative group that supports the Passenger Transportation Board core functions through operations, business support, budgeting and financial management, and application and appeal processing within an administrative law framework. The team’s work has a meaningful impact by helping applicants navigate decision-making processes, supporting effective organizational operations, and continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Board procedures and services.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing Operations team that delivers critical front-line services, application and appeal processing, and business support functions that help applicants, businesses, and regulated industries navigate the Board’s processes. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership, guide operational excellence, implement process improvements, and ensure programs and services are delivered in a fair and effective manner. Working closely with Board members and a small management team, you will have the autonomy to influence organizational priorities, support informed decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- University degree in a related discipline, or equivalent.
- Three years experience working in a public sector operational/application processing environment
- One year experience developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.
- Three years experience working in a business support environment.
- One year experience overseeing financial performance and preparing budget forecasts.
- Two years experience in communications, stakeholder relations, or issues management.
- Two years of direct supervisory experience.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Relevant administrative law experience, such as working in an independent tribunal environment or as a statutory decision-maker.
- Experience developing and implementing new technology-supported business transformation projects.
- Experience in applying LEAN/ Six Sigma concepts to business processes.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 09/03/2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
