Description

The Team
The Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams, work collaboratively with families, communities, and service partners to support the mental health and well-being of children and youth across British Columbia. This unique Team Assistant role provides vital administrative and program support to multidisciplinary teams located in communities throughout the province, using virtual platforms to help ensure seamless service delivery and strong team connections.

The Role
The Team Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Child and Youth Mental Health program, providing administrative and program support to clinicians, social workers, Team Leaders, Managers, and other stakeholders within a dynamic service environment. As the first point of contact for client intake and public inquiries, this position requires strong customer service skills, sound judgment, and an understanding of the diverse needs and challenges faced by children, youth, families, and community partners accessing mental health services. This role may also provide support to other Ministry of Children and Family Development services.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (such as GED).
  • Minimum of six months experience working in an office setting.
  • Experience typing, formatting, and editing a variety of documents and materials using standard computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience supporting a team through virtual platforms. 


Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Diploma or certificate in public administration or business administration.
  • Administrative experience working with vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
  • Experience using Ministry Child and Family Development applications, such as CRIS.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
  • More than 6 months of experience working in an office setting.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
