Job Overview
Under the direction of the Provincial Director, Community Corrections, the regional director supervises a team of local managers, the regional office manager and the regional business manager and oversees Community Corrections offices that provide intervention, case management and enforcement services for adults bound by court or police-imposed community supervision. The position is responsible for the overall organization, planning, administration, staffing, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation and control of division’s services within the region. The position oversees quality assurance, through local managers and other supervisory personnel, to provide services and programs that meet the requirements of legislation, regulations, ministry and branch policies and standards, and provincial strategic plans. As a member of the Community Management Committee, the regional director contributes to decisions involving the strategic direction of the division, including policy and program development, and ensures communication is maintained between BC Corrections headquarters and the field.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years; 120 credits), instructed in the English language, from a recognized Canadian Institution and 5 years leadership experience in a community correctional environment; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Willingness statements:

  • Valid class 5 British Columbia Driver’s License. A valid Class 7 may be considered.
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend.
  • Must be able to work on call once every seven weeks or more frequently as required for operational reasons.
  • Must be able to travel to other geographic locations.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
This position is excluded from union membership.
A Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
