The Team
The West Coast Maritime Office (WCMO) is an established team within the DAAMM branch that advances strategic initiatives, policies, and partnerships to support economic development and sector growth in British Columbia. The team works collaboratively with partners across government, industry, Indigenous Nations, and other stakeholders to address complex opportunities and challenges that are priorities for the Province. Reporting to the Director, Industry Initiatives, the Senior Manager is a key member of the WCMO leadership team and is expected to supervise one or more direct reports while working closely with colleagues across the branch to deliver integrated policy and industry development outcomes.
The Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex, high-profile work that requires strong project management, strategic leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills. The Senior Manager is responsible for advancing executive priority initiatives from concept through implementation, coordinating across multiple organizations and jurisdictions, and building effective partnerships to achieve shared objectives. As a visible representative of the team, the Senior Manager engages regularly with senior government officials, industry leaders, and other external partners, providing advice, leading presentations, building social license, and helping shape solutions that support long-term economic and sector development goals.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

University degree in commerce, economics, business administration, public administration or a related field.

A minimum of three (3) years of related senior level experience in the following areas:
-
Policy and/or program analysis and development.
-
Strategic planning, strategy development and business case development.
-
Working collaboratively across functional organizational units to deliver high-profile and/or sensitive projects.
-
Providing advice to senior government officials with regard to issues and recommending appropriate solutions and strategies.
-
Providing direct customer/client service.
-
Management of staff and/or project teams.
-
-
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
-
Managing projects involving multiple components, milestones, deliverables and stakeholders, partners, or cross-functional teams.

Additional experience beyond the minimum years required for the position.
Proviso:
- Overnight travel within the province may be required.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 06/04/2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
