The Team
The FCBC NRS Team is an established and supportive group of 12 employees, including five clerks, six NRS staff, and one manager. Team members work together to help consider access to and use of Crown land and water, supporting informed decisions that contribute to economic activity across the province. The Role
The Natural Resource Specialist supports the responsible management of BC’s natural resources by reviewing water and Crown land applications and responding to client inquiries. In a collaborative and inclusive environment, you will help individuals, businesses, and communities understand authorization requirements, contributing to resource stewardship, sustainable land and water use, and economic opportunities across the province.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a natural resource management related field and a minimum of 1 years related experience in a resource management related field, OR
- A Technical Diploma in a natural resource management related field and a minimum of 3 years related experience in a resource management related field, OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Willingness Statements:
- Willingness to do field work and to travel using aircraft, car and boat, sometimes in adverse weather conditions and alone in remote areas.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position is located in Nanaimo.
