The Team
The Regional Response & Recovery Operations Branch is an established, high-performing team that brings together administrative professionals, managers, and technicians to support communities before, during, and after emergencies. As a Regional Office Administrator, you will work alongside collaborative colleagues who value teamwork, inclusion, and mutual support while contributing to both day-to-day operations and emergency response efforts through the Provincial Regional Emergency Operations Centre. This team fosters a respectful and supportive environment where diverse perspectives strengthen decision-making and help deliver effective services to communities across British Columbia.

The Role
As a Regional Office Administrator, you will provide administrative leadership and coordination that supports regional operations, guides administrative staff, and helps ensure services run smoothly and effectively. In this role, you will contribute to emergency management efforts across preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery, helping communities access the support they need before, during, and after emergencies. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent AND a minimum of two (2) years of recent, related* clerical/administrative experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Related clerical/administrative experience must include all of the following:

  • Experience with general office procedures and the operation of office equipment.
  • Experience with or training in MS Word, Outlook and Excel at an intermediate level of proficiency.
  • Experience reviewing, verifying and tracking financial and/or program information.
  • Experience arranging travel, meetings, events, etc.

Preference may be given to candidates with any of the following:

  • Post-secondary training in office administration, business, secretarial or other related courses.
  • Three (3) or more years clerical/administrative support experience.
  • Experience preparing documents (e.g. reports, briefing materials, correspondence, presentations, etc.) and maintaining filing systems/records management.
  • Experience supervising or leading a team.

About this Position:
There is one (1) permanent position in Surrey, one (1) temporary opportunity in Kamloops until December 31, 2026 and one (1) temporary opportunity in Saanichton until March 31, 2027. These temporary opportunities may be extended or become permanent.
This position has full-time on-site requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies in Surrey, Saanichton and Kamloops.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
