The Team
IPREM is an established, fun, and collaborative team made up of three Senior Project Managers. The team works closely with local government emergency program managers, other agencies, First Nation communities, and provincial ministries to improve emergency management across the Metro Vancouver region. Team members value the strong relationships they have built with partners and their ability to adapt to evolving needs and priorities.
The Role
The Senior Project Manager leads and manages projects identified in the annual Business Plan while building and maintaining strong relationships with partners to enhance emergency management planning support. This role offers the opportunity to work on interesting and large-scale projects that directly help communities better respond and adapt to emergency events. Candidates will be inspired by the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with a wide range of partners while contributing to work that strengthens emergency management across the region.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Emergency Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, public policy, environmental studies or a related field AND three (3) years of related* experience; OR
- Diploma in Emergency Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, public policy, environmental studies or a related field AND four (4) years of related* experience; OR
- Certificate in Emergency Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, public policy, environmental studies or a related field AND five (5) years of related* experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
*Related experience must include all of the following:
- Building and managing collaborative relationships with multiple partners (different levels of government, First Nations etc.), including senior management and executive to develop and support project development.
- Organizing, developing, facilitating and leading workshops and emergency exercises with different levels of government, First Nations etc.
- Preparing contracts, leading project teams (consisting of professionals/subject matter experts) and directing the work of others (contractors, external partners).
- Leading and managing complex projects of large scale that have multiple project delivery components.
- Managing relationships with senior level partners (different levels of government, First Nations etc.) and leading partner engagement sessions including issues management and conflict resolution.
- Synthesizing and analyzing large amounts of information and data and summarizing and identifying issues/trends and generating options/recommendations in writing.
Preference may be given to applicants who have any of the following:
- Formal project management training and/or certification
- Formal training, certification or experience in emergency management or emergency planning

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
There is currently a temporary opportunity available until April 1, 2028. This temporary opportunity may become permanent.
