The Team
The Registration and Closure Section (RCS) within the Consumer Taxation Programs Branch is an established and collaborative team that plays a key role in supporting the fair and effective administration of Provincial Sales Tax (PST). You will work alongside Compliance Analysts, Team Leads, and management, while collaborating with other ministry program areas, taxpayers, and authorized representatives. The Role
As a Compliance Analyst, you will review taxpayer information, apply legislation and policy, resolve account issues, and communicate with businesses and taxpayers to support compliance with provincial tax requirements. This role offers meaningful opportunities to analyze complex situations, research issues, and make fair, well-reasoned decisions that help taxpayers understand and meet their obligations. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must have completion of High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clerical/administrative experience in a financial environment.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in a regulatory environment (i.e. government, municipality, financial institution, etc)
  • Recent (preferably within the last 1 to 3 years) experience providing direction and advice to business owners, operators, accountants, lawyers, or the public.
  • Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience working in a computerized environment, as well as recent experience with Microsoft Office suite and the internet. 

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Experience working with the Provincial Sales Tax Act, interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and/or policies.
  • Experience working in a call centre atmosphere.
  • Experience in custom financial database.
  • Recent experience working with legal documents.
