The Team
The Performance, Partnerships and Methodologies Branch provides leadership in cross-sector population-based analytics that support health system performance measurement and financial analytics. The branch provides methodological expertise and supports the delivery of analytic reporting portals for the sector to support evidence-informed decision-making. The Methodologies and Cross-Sector Analytics team delivers the data, insights, and evidence that support strategic decision-making across British Columbia’s health system. Bringing together experts in analytics, predictive modelling, economics, statistics, and funding methodologies, the team works collaboratively with government, health authorities, researchers, and external partners to improve population health outcomes, system performance, and long-term health care planning.

The Role
The Senior Director provides strategic leadership for provincial health analytics, predictive modelling, funding methodologies, and economic and statistical analysis functions. Leading a multidisciplinary team, this role advances evidence-informed decision-making, oversees the stewardship of provincial health data assets and analytical frameworks, and drives innovation in data integration and modelling to support health system planning, funding allocation, financial modernization, and future health care needs across British Columbia.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics,  or related field plus three (3) years of related experience; OR,
• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field plus five (5) years of related experience.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

• Experience in the health care sector. 
• Working with health administrative data, case-mix methodologies, and clinical classifications.
• Experience leading methodology development projects.
• Experience in writing and producing statistical and/or management information reports or other publications. 
• Experience analyzing large volumes of data with computer programming (e.g. Python) or business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI).
• Experience in management of multi-disciplinary staff.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
