The Team
The Child Care Community Development Team is a recently established team within the Strategic Expansion and Equitable Access Branch that works with public and non-profit child care operators across British Columbia to support the sustainability and expansion of child care services. Reporting to the Executive Director, the team consists of a Director of Child Care Development, two Child Care Planners, and a Partnerships and Engagement Coordinator, and collaborates closely with colleagues across the Child Care Program and Policy Division, ECC, and other ministries. Their work focuses on improving equitable access to affordable, inclusive, and high-quality child care, and the team is known for its strong commitment to community engagement, collaboration, trust-building, and practical support for child care organizations.
The Role
The Partnerships and Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in planning and delivering virtual engagement activities with child care partners, school districts, and other stakeholders across British Columbia by coordinating meetings, communications, participant logistics, and follow-up actions. Through strong relationship management and collaboration, the position helps connect communities with provincial resources and supports efforts to improve access to affordable, high-quality, and inclusive child care for children and families throughout the province. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, English, Business, Political Science or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- One (1) year experience responding to program issues or enquiries and making recommendations.
- One (1) year experience planning and implementing strategic partnership relations and/or communication strategies.
- Six (6) months experience planning and coordinating virtual engagements and/or events.
Preference May Be Given To Applicants With:
- Experience coordinating formal and informal consultation processes.
- Experience in the public, non-profit and/or child care sector.
- Experience in public/media relations, communications or marketing.
- Writing communications for, or engaging with, First Nations, Metis and Inuit people.
