Description
The Team
The Business Services team (FrontCounter BC Tech Team) provides application support, business analysis, security administration, testing, and technical services for critical business systems used by FrontCounter BC staff and the public. The team serves as the bridge between business operations and technology, supporting application enhancements, user access management, content administration, outage communications, and continuous service improvements that help FrontCounter BC deliver efficient and reliable services across British Columbia.
The Role
The Business Application Advisor works closely with business and technical teams to support and improve FrontCounter BC applications and business processes. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing business requirements, coordinating system enhancements, supporting the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), completing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), monitoring system issues and outages, preparing communications, maintaining content and documentation, and providing operational support to business areas. The role also contributes to reporting, process improvements, training materials, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- A degree in business administration or computer science or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in working collaboratively with various stakeholders on business process change involving system development.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience with business applications including implementation planning, testing, and security.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience with business applications including user support, data integrity, administrative functions, and troubleshooting.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience leading or coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, test execution, defect tracking, validation of business requirements, and implementation sign-off.
Preference may be given to candidates who have experience with any of the following:
- In HTML; CSS; JavaScript and web content management systems.
- Natural Resource Sector authorization workflow
- E-Licensing software
- Data analysis and the producing of analytical reports
