Description

The Team
The Corporate Services Division provides valued and trusted corporate services, leadership, and advice to the ministry. The division strives to be a great place to work, to be a trusted advisor and to deliver service and operational excellence. The Corporate Communications, Reporting and Facilities Branch is responsible for the ministry’s internal communications and employee engagement, strategic corporate planning and non-financial regulatory reporting, enterprise risk management (ERM), ministry-wide facilities management, occupational health and safety (OHS), and emergency management and business continuity planning (BCP) programs. The branch also leads various corporate and ministry priorities as and when needed on behalf of the ministry Executive and Deputy Minister’s Office. 

The Role
This senior leadership role provides strategic direction and oversight across ministry planning, performance, enterprise risk management, emergency preparedness, facilities, occupational health and safety, internal communications, and key corporate initiatives. This position often works on new and emerging initiatives, determining process and approach and briefing executive and the DM.  Key to success is strong leadership and relationship-building skills, the ability to effectively brief executives and provide trusted strategic advice, and the ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities through effective risk mitigation.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in public administration, policy, business, or a related field, AND a minimum of 5 years of *related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in challenging leadership roles, including the supervision of unionized and non-unionized staff.


Related experience includes:

  • Experience establishing collaborative relationships with senior leaders across government and maintaining trusting relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading ministry-wide projects and managing large volumes of work with competing priorities across multiple clients, often without direct authority.
  • Experience leading strategic planning and performance reporting, facilities including business continuity planning and OHS or internal communications and employee engagement programs.
  • Experience briefing executives and/or delivering executive-level presentations and consultations for the purpose of decision-making.
  • Experience developing positive solutions to sensitive, ambiguous or complex problems with a record of success.

1 Position is available.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
