Description

The Team
The team consists of approximately 32 administrative, technical, and professional staff dedicated supporting responsible resource management and delivers meaningful outcomes for the people and landscapes of northern British Columbia.

The Role
This role works within natural resource management and is accountable for managing the delivery of district wide operations consistent with Ministry priorities and objectives and legislative requirements and oversees a large team comprised of technical, administrative, and professional staff.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • University Degree or Diploma in a field related to Natural Resource Management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in operational management of natural resources.
  • Experience leading and coaching diverse teams and in financial and human resource management.
  • Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving problems with stakeholders and partners in natural resource management or infrastructure development.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in operational management of natural resources.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of program management experience, which may include allocating resources, budget management and/or business planning.
  • Financial management experience including budgets, forecasts, etc.
  • Registered Professional Forester, Registered Forest Technologist, or other related professional designation.

Provisos:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid BC Driver’s Licence (or equivalent) with no restrictions or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Prince George.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Prince George.
This position is excluded from union membership.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
