Description

The Team
The Assistant Deputy Minister's Office (ADMO) provides strategic leadership and operational coordination for the Service Delivery Division, supporting organizational priorities, executive decision-making, and effective service delivery. As a Band 3 leader, you will work collaboratively with senior leaders and partners across government to advance divisional objectives and foster a high-performing organization.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), the Senior Manager, Business Planning and Engagement provides strategic leadership and advice to support divisional priorities, operations, and organizational effectiveness. The role leads integrated business planning, reporting, budget oversight, staff engagement, communications, and cross-divisional initiatives, while supporting the ADM and Executive Directors in aligning resources, priorities, and deliverables with ministry objectives and fostering a positive, high-performing organizational culture.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • At least two (2) years of experience supporting operations and administrative activities in a large or complex organization.
  • At least two (2) years of experience supporting business planning, strategic planning, or operational planning activities.
  • At least two (2) years of experience leading or coordinating projects, initiatives, or work involving multiple teams, including those working in different locations.
  • At least two (2) years of experience tracking results, analyzing information, and preparing reports to support decision-making.


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Additional experience in any of the qualifications listed above.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as business administration, public administration, communications, human resources, management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting senior executives (e.g., Assistant Deputy Ministers or Deputy Ministers) or working in an executive office within the BC Public Service.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, financial planning, resource management, or related financial processes.
  • Experience supervising in the BC Public Service.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position is excluded from union membership.
