The Team:
The Business Operations Hub is a new, collaborative team that provides operational, administrative, financial, and human resource support to the Deputy Minister’s Office, Associate Deputy Minister’s Office, and executive leadership within the Ministry of Forests. The team includes up to five administrative and executive support professionals who work closely with Executive Directors, Directors, Senior Executive Assistants, Executive Coordinators, finance and human resource staff, corporate partners, and employees across the ministry. The Hub plays an important role in ensuring executive offices operate smoothly and efficiently, supporting ministry priorities and strategic initiatives. Team members value strong relationships, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and a solutions-focused approach, creating a supportive environment where colleagues work together to deliver excellent service.

The Role:
The Office Administrator oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the Business Operations Hub, providing leadership and direction to a team of up to three and coordinating workflow, priorities, and service delivery. The role is responsible for a broad range of functions, including financial administration, budget monitoring, records management, human resource coordination, facilities and asset management, and continuous improvement of operational processes. Working closely with the Deputy Minister’s Office and Associate Deputy Minister’s Office, the Office Administrator helps ensure executive leadership has the administrative and operational support needed to focus on strategic priorities, decision-making, and ministry objectives. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent in public administration, business administration or financial management or related field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in office management, budget development and administration.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. 

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the public sector.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in records management, including experience using ARCS and/or ORCS records management systems.

About this Position:
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 2 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
