The Role
As the Senior Advisor, First Nations Relations, you will lead and support consultation processes for natural resource projects and initiatives in the Northeast region. You will work with First Nations, ministry teams, industry, and other partners to ensure their rights, interests, and perspectives are considered in decision-making, while providing clear advice and helping create fair, respectful, and inclusive outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in natural resource management, public administration, business administration, law or other relevant discipline and minimum three (3) years of related experience; OR
- Master’s Degree in in natural resource management, public administration, business administration, law or other relevant discipline and minimum one (1) year of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license, or an equivalent class driver's license from another province or jurisdiction.
Related Experience includes all of the following:
- Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, resource management, social or economic development issues.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and leading First Nations consultations.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following experience:
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience using geospatial tools such as: GIS, relational databases, remote sensing or related technologies.

About this Position:
