Description

The Team

The Student Certification and Transcripts team plays a key role in supporting British Columbia’s graduation program by overseeing the issuance of graduation certificates and transcripts and ensuring the integrity of student achievement records. This established and collaborative team works closely with schools, districts, post-secondary institutions, and ministry partners to support students’ successful progression toward graduation and beyond.
 

The Role

This position coordinates the administration of B.C.’s graduation program and provincial assessments for Offshore Schools, Yukon schools, and non-independent First Nations schools operating outside provincial jurisdiction. It is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building strong relationships, and using policy and systems expertise to help students overcome barriers and receive the credentials they have earned.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Completion of a 2-year diploma or certificate program in business administration, public administration or a related field and a minimum of three years *recent, related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience: 

           o    Master’s degree in business administration, public administration or a related field plus a minimum 1-year *recent, related experience; OR 
           o    Degree in business administration, public administration or a related field plus a minimum 2-years *recent, related experience. 

*Recent (within the last 6 years), related experience must include all of the following:

  • Experience providing information and services to the public.
  • Experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Experience working in a team that oversees a complex administration program of provincial scope with multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Experience analyzing complex information to determine solutions.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets and databases and providing technical support to clients.


Preference may be given to candidates with the following: 

  • Experience with graduation programs and policies for the B.C. K-12 education sector.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
