Description
The Team
The Ministry of Children and Family Development promotes and develops the capacity of families and communities to care for and protect vulnerable children and youth and supports healthy child and family development to maximize the potential of every child in BC. The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre is a designated Mental Health facility and part of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Services are delivered on-site in Coquitlam, Prince George and Vernon and community services are provided across the province. This position will be based in Coquitlam.
The Role
The Program Assistant will have an important role to play in supporting the leadership team, working to ensure programs meet the needs of children, youth, and families. The Program Assistant will provide a variety of office administrative, secretarial, and financial support services for the Maples and will coordinate the day-to-day priorities of the leaders, including being a liaison with ministry executive offices and community partners.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation or equivalent (Dogwood, GED, or Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC)) and 6 months related experience; OR
- Evergreen and 1 year related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience may include:
- Experience working in an office setting.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Diploma or certificate in public administration or business administration.
- Training or experience in using Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual tools (Teams, Zoom).
- One (1) or more years of experience working in an office setting.
- Government or Executive Assistant experience.
- Experience filing medical or mental health records.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to one day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
