Job Overview
The Regional Director (RD) is responsible for regulation of the mineral resource industry within one of 5 geographic regions in the province. The position provides leadership and services to support increasing and growing exploration and development programs within the industry. RDs coordinate, develop, administer and manage Ministry programs for delivering economic development, in addition to inspection, geological, reclamation, and permitting services and compliance activities.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Geology, Natural Resource Management or related discipline.
• Experience in mining, resource or industry management.
• Experience in strategic management, business and organizational planning, human resource and financial operations.
• Minimum 5 years of experience providing leadership and supervision to professional and technical employees. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience building effective working relationships with a broad spectrum of partners including (but not limited to) senior representatives of public/private sector, Indigenous communities, unions, associations and community/special interest groups.
• Experience with issues management and strategic problem solving including providing leadership, expertise, and advice in the implementation of solutions to senior or executive management teams, internal staff, and external partners.
