The Team

The Policy Team in the Forest Science, Planning and Practices Branch (FSPPB) plays a central role in shaping sustainable forest management policy for British Columbia. This established team provides guidance and interpretation of the Forest and Range Practices Act and its regulations, leads legislative and regulatory improvements, and supports major initiatives such as Forest Landscape Planning and the implementation of key government priorities. Working closely with subject matter experts, ministry partners, and other branches across government, the team helps influence the future of forest management and stewardship throughout the province.
 

The Role

The Senior Policy Analyst leads complex policy, legislative, and regulatory initiatives that support the Ministry’s Sustainable Forest Management Program. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to transformative work, including the development of Forest Landscape Plans and other significant forest management initiatives, while providing strategic policy advice, conducting in-depth analysis, and helping shape the future of forestry and land stewardship in British Columbia.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or equivalent and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in the development of legislation, regulation and policy.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments
  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 05/07/2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
