Description

The Team
The Land Tenures Branch provides strategic leadership, policy direction, and guidance to support effective, transparent, and coordinated land administration across British Columbia. Working closely with Indigenous Nations, local governments, industry partners, and provincial agencies, the team advances policies and initiatives that promote sustainable land management, economic development, and responsible stewardship of private and Crown land resources.

The Role
As Manager, Strategic Land Policy, you will lead the development and implementation of legislation, policy, programs, and strategic initiatives that shape the ownership, administration, and use of land across the province. This influential leadership role provides expert advice to senior executives, collaborates with partners and stakeholders on complex land management issues, and guides a team responsible for delivering innovative policy solutions that support sustainable growth and long-term land stewardship.


Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Natural Resources Management, Planning, Public or Business administration, or a related field 3 years of related experience*
  • Or equivalent combination of education and 5 years of related experience*

*Related experience includes:

  • Extensive experience providing expertise and advice to senior management on Crown and/or private land administration and management.
  • Experience liaising with industry and other stakeholders regarding land resource development.
  • Experience leading research, developing models, analyzing quantitative and qualitative information, policy and regulations and generating options/recommendations for land resource development and program management.
  • Expert knowledge of the process of policy and legislation development.
  • Experience preparing concise and accurate briefing notes, background material, reports and correspondence on a variety of issues.
  • Experience in managing contracts and monitoring contract and budget performance.
  • Experience in supervision of staff and contractors and the management of project teams.
