The Team
The Cariboo‑Chilcotin Natural Resource District (DCC) Range Program is a well‑established team with a strong reputation for stewardship, collaboration, and service excellence. The DCC Range team is composed of a blend of experienced and newer staff, creating a dynamic mix of perspectives, backgrounds, and approaches. Working within a geographically diverse district, the successful applicant will join four other team members who are committed to supporting land‑based objectives, food security, and the local economy. The team works closely with a high‑functioning network of district partners, including First Nations Relations, Tenures, Range Branch, and internal referral groups. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Range Management or Natural Resource Science, which includes course content focused on Range Management, Plant Ecology, and Range Plant Physiology or related field that includes Range Science.
Related Experience may include
- Experience in developing and implementing creative solutions to complex problems.
- Experience in planning, preparing and delivering oral presentations and training to diverse groups inside and outside government and experience conducting effective meetings.
Professional Registration and Certification Requirements
- Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Professional Agrologist (PAg) with the BC Institute of Agrologists (BCIA).
- Note: "Immediately eligible for registration" means meeting all requirements for full professional registration and completing the process of obtaining full registration with the relevant BC professional association within six (6) months of employment. Applicants currently registered, or eligible for registration within six (6) months of employment, with the BCIA as an Articling Agrologist (AAg) may be considered for this position at the Licensed Science Officer 1 A level.
- Note: "Immediately eligible for registration" means meeting all requirements for full professional registration and completing the process of obtaining full registration with the relevant BC professional association within six (6) months of employment. Applicants currently registered, or eligible for registration within six (6) months of employment, with the BCIA as an Articling Agrologist (AAg) may be considered for this position at the Licensed Science Officer 1 A level.
Preferences may be given to applicants with the following:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in range management and administration.
- Experience gathering data using data collection devices and/or mobile GIS Applications (e.g., ArcGIS) to analyze spatial and attribute data in order to make recommendations.
- Experience working with the Forest and Range Practices Act and its Regulations, the Range Act and its Regulations, the Land Act, the Forest Act, and other legislation relating to integrated management of rangelands and livestock on Crown range.
- Experience working in a district range program.

About this Position:
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Forests offices: Williams Lake , Alexis Creek.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
