The Team
The Housing Policy Branch (HPB) is a collaborative and passionate team dedicated to ensuring British Columbians have access to safe, affordable, and secure housing. As a medium-sized team of policy analysts and a senior economist, HPB works on a wide range of housing policy issues, including market and non-market housing, cooperative housing, and purpose-built rentals. The team plays a critical role in delivering B.C.’s housing strategy by conducting research, developing policy options, and engaging with government and industry stakeholders.
The Role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile policy and legislation projects that are shaping the future of housing in B.C. You will conduct policy analysis and research, develop recommendations for senior staff, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive meaningful change. Your work will play a direct role in increasing housing supply, fighting speculation, and supporting those who need it most. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, social sciences, economics, political science, geography, land use planning or similar.

A minimum of one (1) year of experience including the following:
- Developing and/or interpreting and applying policy.
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative research.
- Managing projects and/or project components.
- Developing briefing materials for senior officials.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preference may be given to individuals with:
- One (1) or more years developing legislation and/or regulations.
- Prior work experience in the housing sector.
- Experience with stakeholder and Indigenous partner engagement and/or consultation.

About this Position:
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
