The Team
The Legislation Branch is a well-established team that manages the Ministry’s legislative program, leads the preparation and drafting of regulations, Orders-in-Council, and Ministerial orders, coordinates public appointments to health sector agencies, boards and commissions, and oversees the Ministry’s commitments related to Regulatory Reform and Regulatory Modernization initiatives. The branch also manages approval processes for proclamations and requests to use “BC” or “British Columbia” in organizational names. Comprised of seven professionals, the team works collaboratively with ministry staff, central agencies, and external partners. Team members value the branch’s respectful and supportive culture, where professionalism and collaboration are highly regarded.
The Role
Reporting to the Director, Legislation and Regulatory Reform, you will coordinate health sector board appointments in partnership with the Crown Agencies and Board Resourcing Office, manage appointments for statutory officers established under legislation, process health-related proclamation requests, and coordinate reviews of requests to use “BC” or “British Columbia” in organizational names. This position offers a unique opportunity to build strong working relationships across the Ministry of Health, other government ministries, and central agencies. It is an ideal role for a highly organized professional who enjoys coordinating complex processes and wants to contribute to excellence in board governance and the ongoing evolution of British Columbia’s health care system.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- A degree or diploma in a related field such as public administration, law, journalism, or communications or a combination of four years related experience.
- Demonstrated experience writing, editing, formatting and finalizing executive or management level correspondence.
- Experience compiling statistical, quantitative and qualitative information and conducting data analysis.
- Experience communicating with senior staff and providing advice and recommendations as required
Preference will be given to applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (e.g., First Nations, Métis or Inuit).

About this Position:
This is a temporary/auxiliary opportunity until 10/01/2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
