The Role
The role of the Agri-Food Compliance and Enforcement Officer involves conducting interviews, inspections, investigations, and outreach activities while providing education and guidance to industry, government partners, and the public about food safety regulations. It’s a chance to make a meaningful contribution by helping ensure safe, high-quality food reaches the BC marketplace.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
• Relevant education in a related discipline such as administrative law, investigation and enforcement, criminology, criminal justice, bylaw or food science.
• Degree or higher in relevant education and a minimum one year experience, or
• Diploma or higher in relevant education and a minimum two years experience, or
• Certification or equivalent in relevant education and three years experience, or
• Secondary school graduation or equivalent and four years experience in the following:
- Conducting inspections to monitor compliance.
- Conducting investigations and taking enforcement action in a regulatory field.
- Interpreting and applying legislation and/or regulations pertaining to a regulatory program.
• Must have a valid B.C. driver’s licence.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 2 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
