The Team
The Civil Forfeiture Office (CFO) is a dedicated team supporting B.C.’s efforts to address organized crime, money laundering and the impacts of unlawful activity. Working with law enforcement, government partners and communities across B.C., the team manages complex and sensitive information while helping direct forfeited funds toward crime prevention, community programs and victim compensation. The CFO values collaboration, integrity and diverse perspectives, creating an inclusive workplace where people with different backgrounds and experiences can contribute to this important work.

The Role
As a Senior Program Assistant with the Civil Forfeiture Office, you will provide senior-level administrative, financial, compliance, and legislative decision-making, and working with staff at all levels to advance important program priorities. You will use sound judgment to assess complex or unclear cases, work collaboratively with partners, and bring diverse perspectives and experiences to problem-solving and decision-making.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or higher in Business or Legal Administration, Social Sciences, or Justice Studies; or
  • A post-secondary diploma in an unrelated field AND 1 year of experience in a forfeiture setting.
  • 1 year of experience working in an administrative role in an office setting.
  • 1 year of experience using case management systems (e.g. Salesforce).
  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience working in a forfeiture or law enforcement setting.
  • Experience working one-to-one with lawyers/paralegals.
  • Experience with legislation, regulations, and policies governing the CFO program.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
