The Team
The TransLink Strategic Priorities team is an established, collaborative group, consisting of a Director, Project Director, and two Senior Policy Analysts. The team works closely with colleagues across the BC Transit and Clean & Active Transportation teams, with significant collaboration on transit policy initiatives that support communities throughout the Metro Vancouver region. Team members appreciate the supportive, high-performing environment where people work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while making time for meaningful collaboration, helping deliver work that shapes the future of transportation in the region.

The Role
In this role, you will research complex social, economic, legislative, and political issues, analyze information from a variety of sources, and develop recommendations that help shape transportation policy, programs, and legislation. You will work on high-profile initiatives that support TransLink’s long-term financial sustainability, including investment planning and collaboration with municipal, provincial, and federal partners to help deliver reliable transit services across Metro Vancouver. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
    

  • Master’s degree in planning, public administration, political science or related field and minimum two (2) years of each of related experience; or,    
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration, political science or related field and minimum three (3) years of each of related experience.


Related experience, in a work-based setting within the last five (5) years, must include:

  • Experience, in a related area (i.e. public policy, planning, local government), in the development of supporting materials for legislation, regulation, funding and other agreements, policy, and programs.    
  • Experience, in a related area (i.e. public policy, planning, local government), conducting policy research and analysis to assess social, economic or political impacts. 
  • Experience, in a related area (i.e. public policy, planning, local government), in planning, leading and/or coordinating projects/assignments.


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience in any of the following areas: transportation and transit planning including transportation-oriented development, land use planning, long-range strategic planning, official community plans, regional growth strategies, and climate change policy and programs.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is a temporary/auxiliary opportunity until August 27, 2028. This position may be extended or become permanent.
