The Team
The Service Enablement and Technology (SET) Policy Branch is a newly established team within Connected Services BC that is helping shape the future of digital government in British Columbia. The branch leads strategic work to modernize government policy frameworks, and provides policy guidance to support trusted, connected services, and emerging technology priorities. As part of this small but high-impact policy team, you will work with subject matter experts, executives, service designers, and technology specialists to address complex cross-government challenges and opportunities. The SET Policy team plays a unique convening role across government, helping identify and remove policy barriers, align policy direction with service modernization objectives, and ensure that policy frameworks enable innovation and better outcomes for British Columbians.
The Role
In this role, you will lead complex policy research, analysis, development, and implementation initiatives that support connected public services across British Columbia. You will provide strategic advice to executive, lead policy consultations and development, and identify emerging issues and opportunities. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on core government policies related to service enablement, digital government, and emerging technologies. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, computer science, communications or a field related to the program area and 2 years of related experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, computer science, communications, or a field related to the program area and 3 years of related experience, or
- Diploma in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, computer science communications, or a field related to the program area and 4 years related experience, or
- Certificate or coursework in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, computer science, communications, or a field related to the program area and 5 years related experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience may include
- Experience in development of legislation, regulation, and/or policy.
- Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects or assignments.
- Experience producing concise written documentation including issue papers, reports, briefings, presentations and executive level correspondence.
- Experience developing processes and participating in consultations to define policy and/or program priorities.
