The Team
The Exam Team within the Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Branch plays a vital role in supporting the licensing and regulation of emergency medical assistants across British Columbia. This experienced and collaborative team coordinates and delivers practical examinations throughout the province, helping ensure that emergency health professionals meet the standards required to provide safe, high-quality care to British Columbians.
The Role
The Examination Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of practical and online examination sessions, including planning, scheduling, onsite exam delivery, and results management. This unique opportunity combines project coordination, operational leadership, and travel throughout the province while directly supporting the licensing process that helps maintain public confidence and patient safety in emergency health services.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma or certificate in office or business administration or related field plus 3 years experience providing administrative support and service to the public OR a comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum of three (3) years directly related experience in each of the following:
Applying the principles of administrative law, administrative fairness, and natural justice.
Interpreting and applying legislation, guidelines, policy, procedures, and financial statements in a work environment that assesses applications.
Planning, organizing, and managing multiple files and assignments and deadlines with shifting priorities.
- Experience developing, managing, and operationalizing complex schedules.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
- Preference may be given to applicants who are qualified to obtain a valid BC EMA license within six months of starting the position.
Willingness statement:
- Travel is a requirement to various exam locations throughout the province for multiple consecutive days on a weekly basis.
- May be required to use your own vehicle, with appropriate insurance, on an expense account basis.
- May be required to travel in adverse (reasonable) weather conditions.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 08/31/2028. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
