The Team
Business Systems Development and Support (BSDS), within the Tribunal and Agency Support Division (TASD), is a multidisciplinary technology team that supports a variety of tribunals and agencies across the justice sector. The team of approximately 16 staff includes business analysts, developers, technical coordinators, application support specialists, a scrum master, and an architect who work together to support and improve critical business applications and services. BSDS is a well-established team focused on business analysis, application development, operational support, and technology modernization initiatives that help improve access to justice for British Columbians. Team members work closely with a broad range of partners and are encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership of their work, and collaborate to solve complex business challenges.
The Role
The Technology Business Analyst works with clients and technical teams to identify business needs, gather and document requirements, support solution design, coordinate projects, and assist with testing and implementation activities. This role also provides ongoing client support and helps ensure technology solutions meet business objectives and operational needs. The work directly supports tribunals and agencies that deliver important services to British Columbians, helping them operate more effectively and efficiently. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of business and technology initiatives, build strong relationships with business partners, and contribute to modernization efforts across the justice sector.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 2 years of related experience; OR
- Diploma in computer science or related field and 3 years related experience; OR
- Certificate in computer science or related field and 4 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
*Recent, related experience must include:
- Experience providing business analysis on high-risk projects.
- Experience with business systems management.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- Experience with business process mapping, requirements gathering, and design.
- Experience in conducting User Acceptance Testing.
- Experience or training in Agile, Change Management, or Project Management.
- Experience managing contracted resources.
- Experience with the installation, configuration, maintenance and/or problem resolution of hardware, software, operating systems and/or network components.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until June 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
