The Team
The Timber Pricing branch has 3 sections, with this position working in the billing section. This role will be working with all the sections, we are currently working with the Forest Digital Systems group to modernize our systems to the latest technology platforms and increase security. The role is not limited to only billing but with all aspects of the forest industry and ministry so there is normally something new as well as the existing to keep the work interesting.
The Role
To provide production control services for the Harvest Billing System (HBS) and the General Billing System (GBS). To provide technical and business support by receiving, diagnosing, solving and/or escalating service requests to resolve complex data and application problems. To provide application Data Usage Specialist roles for the HBS, GBS, and Client systems related to branch / ministry data and business issues.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma in business or public administration or computer science field or equivalent related experience.
- Experience with business applications including user support, data integrity, administrative functions, troubleshooting and user acceptance testing.
- Experience participating in, or contributing to, application development projects from either an information technology or an operational business process perspective.
- Experience with relational databases, table structures, data types and query languages.
Preference may be given to candidates with any of the following:
- Experience or formal training in advanced Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Experience in the use of support software such as XML Spy, JIRA, and SQL Developer.
- Experience in identifying and evaluating risks from a security, business and technological standpoint.

About this Position:
There is currently 1 full time opportunity available. It can be performed from any Ministry of Forests office in BC. An eligibility list may be established for future temporary or permanent opportunities. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up two days at home per week subject to an approved telework
