The Team
StudentAid BC (SABC) is a dedicated team that helps more than 80,000 B.C. students and borrowers each year access financial support for post-secondary education and training. Working across five operational teams, SABC supports a diverse range of students, including students with disabilities, while providing accessible front-line services, assessing funding eligibility, managing appeals and exceptions, and supporting post-secondary institutions. The team values inclusive, equitable and responsive services that help reduce barriers and ensure students and borrowers can access the support they need.

The Role
As a Senior Support Officer with StudentAid BC, you will support a range of student financial assistance services, including assessing funding eligibility and helping clients navigate complex or challenging issues. You will share your technical knowledge and client service skills to support colleagues, promote consistent and equitable service, and work collaboratively with partners across the branch, ministry and external organizations to help ensure diverse students and borrowers receive the support they need.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience engaging with a diverse public in a front-line customer service environment.
  • 1 year of experience providing written and verbal client service in a high volume, fast paced work environment.
  • 1 year of experience interpreting and applying operating procedures, policy and/or legislation.
  • 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook) and database applications. 


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience delivering a program providing financial benefits to clients.
  • Call centre experience.
  • Financial education and/or training.
  • Post-secondary education or training.
