The Team
The Registry Team is an established group of approximately 25 dedicated professionals, including Customer Service Representatives, Registry Officers, and Case Managers, who work closely with other Tribunal staff to protect the human rights of British Columbians. They handle public inquiries, process complaints, and support case management with precision and care. The Role
The Registry Officer plays a key role in supporting the Tribunal’s work by responding to public inquiries on human rights issues, processing formal complaints and supporting mediation services. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to protect human rights and ensuring equitable access to justice. Working in a high-volume environment, the role provides clear, respectful, and accessible information while recognizing and respecting diverse backgrounds, experiences, and needs. The candidate will be inspired by the role to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment dedicated to transforming human rights services.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation.
  • A Minimum of 3 years of recent experience providing customer service including direct support with the general public by phone, email and in person.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in office administration providing a diversity of administrative and clerical functions using a variety of computer systems or applications.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with legal processes, legal support, administrative tribunals, or related environment.
  • Experience communicating and explaining complex information to a diverse audience.
  • Experience with managing a high volume of files requiring contact for information and setting of deadlines.
  • Experience working with vulnerable members of the public who may have literacy, mental health and/or language barriers and who may have experienced trauma
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Have taken de-escalation, trauma informed or conflict resolution training or related training for dealing with challenging situations.
  • Experience in a legal environment (tribunal or equivalent).

1 Position available.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
