Description

The Team
The Cariboo Fire Centre Prevention Team is an established and collaborative team dedicated to helping keep communities safer and landscapes more resilient. The team includes a Senior Wildfire Officer, two Wildfire Prevention Officers, a Prevention Specialist, and a Prevention Clerk who work together on initiatives such as reducing human-caused wildfires, FireSmart activities, wildfire risk reduction, and prescribed fire programs, while also supporting fire operations during the wildfire season. We welcome diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds, recognizing that strong partnerships and inclusive teamwork help us better serve communities across the region. By focusing on proactive prevention and mitigation, this team plays an important role in protecting people, communities, and valued natural resources throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre.

The Role
This role provides important administrative support to the Cariboo Fire Centre Prevention Team, including drafting legal documents, tracking human-caused wildfires, and helping coordinate prevention programs and initiatives. By supporting the team's day-to-day operations, the successful candidate helps enable meaningful outreach, collaboration, and wildfire prevention efforts that benefit communities across the region.This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the BC Wildfire Service and grow their skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an office setting and computerized systems.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
