The Team
The Thompson Okanagan Region is an established and collaborative team responsible for supporting BC Parks and Recreation Sites and Trails operations across the region. With 34 full-time staff and up to 14 seasonal employees working from offices in Penticton, Kamloops, E.C. Manning, Vernon, Merritt, and Clearwater, the team works together to help maintain and support public parks, protected areas, and recreation opportunities enjoyed by residents and visitors throughout British Columbia.
The administration team consists of four staff, including two Clerk 9 positions, a Recreation Administrative Assistant, and this leadership role, working closely with Regional Directors, Section Heads, and administrative peers across the province. The Role
In this role, you will provide leadership and coordination for a wide range of administrative functions that support regional operations, including human resources, payroll, records management, facility oversight, asset management, and office administration. As a key operational support position, you will work closely with management and staff across the Thompson Okanagan Region to help ensure services, systems, and processes run smoothly and effectively.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation or equivalent.
- Experience providing administrative and financial support services for a group of staff.
- Experience leading and supervising others.
Preference may be given to those with one (1) or more of the following:
- Post-secondary courses or a Certificate/Diploma in office administration.
- Two (2) or more years of experience providing administrative and financial support services for a group of staff, preferably within the last three (3) years.
- Two (2) or more years of experience leading and supervising others, preferably within the last three (3) years.
- One (1) or more years of experience in records management, including the storage, retrieval and destruction of records.
- One (1) or more years of experience providing financial functions (e.g. reconciliations, purchase card/petty cash management, CAS oracle, processing of invoices).
Willingness Statements:
- Occasional travel may be required. Transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements.
- May be exposed to unpleasant dealings in emotionally charged situations.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
