The Team
The Capital and Corporate Finance Branch within the Corporate Services Division supports the planning and delivery of capital projects that help meet the needs of communities across B.C., including public post-secondary facilities and other provincial infrastructure. The division also provides financial management, human resources, and corporate services that support ministry operations. Working as part of the Financial Operations team, you will contribute to the financial processes that help ensure programs and projects are managed responsibly and effectively.
The Role
Reporting to the Team Lead, Financial Operations, the Accounting and Operations Clerk provides budget and accounting support for a large program area. This role assists with processing of day-to-day financial transactions. The position also helps maintain financial systems, supports asset allocation tracking, and provides administrative support to the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Certificate or coursework and six (6) months of related experience in accounting; OR
- Secondary school graduation (Dogwood, GED) and one (1) year of related experience in accounting; OR
- Evergreen and two (2) years of related experience in accounting; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience Includes:
- Processing invoices, payment receipts, vendor payments and deposits in CAS.
- Processing contract payments, matching invoices/payments to contract PO’s accurately and maintaining a detailed audit trail.
- Experience with setting-up and modifying contracts in iProcurement.
- Experience with setting-up and modifying PO lines in CAS.
Preference may be given to candidates with the required combination of education and experience and:
- 2 years or more related accounts receivable and accounts payable experience gained in a public service or government environment.
- 2 years or more experience processing invoices, journal vouchers, deposits (accounts payable and receivable) transactions in CAS.
- 1 year or more experience with PO set-up in CAS.
- 1 year or more experience with iProcurement.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
