The Team
The CCBOF Administrative Team supports the daily operations that help deliver the Affordable Child Care Benefit and Child Care Operating Funding programs, contributing to the ministry’s goal of making affordable, high-quality, inclusive child care accessible to families across British Columbia. As part of this new and close-knit team of four, you’ll work closely with the Office Manager, Program Support Clerk, fellow Administrative Assistant, and a diverse network of program, facilities, mail, and support staff who keep branch operations running smoothly. The Role
As an Administrative Assistant, you will manage incoming and outgoing mail for the Affordable Child Care Benefit program by opening, date-stamping, scanning, preparing, and distributing important documents and communications. You will also provide administrative support across the Child Care Operating Funding and Operations Support areas, responding to emerging priorities and helping the branch operate efficiently. Through your work, you will help ensure families and child care providers receive critical information and funding in a timely manner, directly supporting more affordable, accessible, and inclusive child care across British Columbia while serving a diverse range of clients with care, respect, and attention to detail.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Certificate or coursework in office administration and six (6) months related experience; OR
  • Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and six (6) months related experience; OR
  • Evergreen and one (1) year related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related Experience includes:

  • Experience working in an office setting.
  • Experience utilizing a variety of computer software programs to create, edit and enter information (i.e. MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferences:

  • Experience using ICM and/or CAS applications.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to maintain spreadsheets, track information, and/or utilize functions such as sorting, filtering, formatting, and basic formulas.
  • Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements and/or preferences

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 02/01/2028. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. However, an initial in-office presence will be required.
