Description

The Team
The FrontCounter BC Contact Centre is an established, collaborative provincial team that serves as a key first point of contact for clients seeking information and assistance related to natural resource programs and services across British Columbia. Working alongside a team of 13 professionals, including a Supervisor, Natural Resource Specialists, and Contact Centre Representatives, you will help clients navigate services, answer a wide range of enquiries, and connect them with the appropriate resources.

The Role
The Natural Resource Specialist role offers exposure to diverse programs and business areas across the Natural Resource Sector, providing continuous learning opportunities in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. If you enjoy problem-solving, learning new things, adapting to change, and helping people, you'll find this to be a rewarding experience. You will have the opportunity to apply leadership skills as the role supervises four Contact Centre Representatives.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a natural resource management related field and six (6) months related experience; OR
  • A Technical Diploma in a natural resource management related field plus one (1) year related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Related experience must include experience some of the following:
    • Experience applying resource based legislation, regulations, policies and environmental values and issues.
    • Experience negotiating and relating positively and respectfully with clients, groups, communities, First Nations, other government agencies and industry.
    • Experience working in the field of natural resource management.
    • Experience analyzing a wide variety of natural resource information.


Additional Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with word processing, database applications and mapping tools such as e-Licensing, iMap and Government Access Tool for Online Retrieval (GATOR).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced customer service environment.
  • Experience providing client service in an adversarial environment.


Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience in a call centre/contact centre environment.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Experience managing issues and bringing them to successful resolution within strict performance deadlines.
  • Experience working with FrontCounter BC.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work a few days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
