The Team
As a Mining Authorization Analyst you will join the established South East Regional Operations Permitting Team, a collaborative group that supports application processing, data review, and analysis to help deliver effective permitting services. Working alongside the Director, Mine Inspectors, administrative staff, and partners in Health, Safety, Enforcement, and First Nations relations, you will contribute to meaningful work that improves application processes, supports informed decision-making, and advances special projects that may include First Nations consultation. The Role
In this Mining Authorization Analyst role, you will work closely with the Director to support data analysis, contribute to special projects, and collaborate with Mine Inspectors and First Nations teams to help improve permitting and consultation processes. Your work will play an important part in identifying efficiencies, supporting informed decision-making, and helping deliver effective services for communities and stakeholders. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a natural resource management related field and a minimum of 1 years related experience in a resource management related field, OR
  • A Technical Diploma in a natural resource management related field and a minimum of 3 years related experience in a resource management related field, OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may also be considered.
  • Experience working with resource-based legislation, regulations, policies and/or environmental values and/or issues.
  • Experience working with common and statute laws, which may include such aspects as land tenure, riparian rights, easements, rights of way, under-surface rights, covenants, timber reservations and/or conservation designations.
  • Experience interacting positively and respectfully with clients, groups, communities, First Nations, other government agencies and/or industry.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Experience working with constitutional obligations (DRIPPA) and/or case law related to Indigenous consultation and reconciliation goals of the Province.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until February 26, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
