Description

The Team
The Regional Director leads a team of eight front-line managers and two regional office staff who lead and manage services throughout the region. The role is also a member of Community Correction’s divisional management committee, contributing to the strategic planning and overall operation of the division and helping to ensure alignment with the BC Corrections Strategic Vision and Ministry priorities. The position works closely with local regional and provincial partners to support consistent service delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across Community Corrections.

The Role
​​​​The Regional Director provides strategic and operational leadership for community-based correctional services across the Vancouver Island region. The role is responsible for planning and delivering services, leading organizational performance, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring programs and operations meet legislative, policy, and service delivery requirements. The Regional Director contributes to divisional priorities and strategic planning while maintaining strong communication and collaboration between local offices and BC Corrections headquarters. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years; 120 credits), instructed in the English language, from a recognized Canadian Institution and 5 years leadership experience in a community correctional environment; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Willingness statements

  • Valid class 5 British Columbia Driver’s License. A valid Class 7 may be considered.
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend.
  • Must be able to work on call once every seven weeks or more frequently as required for operational reasons.
  • Must be able to travel to other geographic locations.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
